Testing the iPhone app for WordPress as well as my thoughts on decaf espresso. I bought a couple pounds of Ethiopian Shebele-Shakiso coffee that is decaffeinated using the Swiss Water Process. Scores very highly and to it’s credit expert tasters have trouble picking out that it’s a decaf, but boy, does it roast up ugly!
I guess that’s common of decafs, but it looks dark and dry and ugly, but it tastes great, so that’s what counts! It’s supposed to be a decent single-origin espresso, too, so I just pulled a shot of it.
Wow, talk about bright! Borderline sour, but that could be my roasting more than the bean, but I got lemon/acidic citrus with what tastes like a melon (honeydew) undertone. Pretty wild stuff!
