Why Aren’t There Any New Reviews??

Good morning! I know things have been REALLY sparse to non-existant lately and I wanted you to know that I have not abandoned KC Coffee Geek or writing coffee reviews, but I am on a bit of a forced hiatus currently. Things slowed down a lot during Covid because it didn’t feel right to be reaching out to businesses who were already thin asking them for review coffees, so that certainly caused a dip in my posting that I haven’t really recovered from yet. Things at work have gotten really busy and I have a lot of responsibility in my real job. The hours it takes to communicate with roasters, test coffees, write up the reviews, etc, have been hard to come by. On top of all that, last year was a horrible year for my family with the passing of my father in law, and this year, my wife has been dealing with health challenges that have shifted a lot of things onto my already full plate, so I am stretched really thin and while writing reviews is a bit of an escape, it’s also a lot of work and I just don’t have the capacity for it right now.

This has always been a “hobby” that I enjoy for the sake of doing it, losing money on it year after year, which is fine, but when it feels like work or that it’s taking my attention away from my real world responsibilities, that’s just not right, so the coffee reviews have to take a back seat to my family and to the people depending on me in my work. I don’t know how long this will go on for, and I’m confident that I will get back to being able to do reviews on a regular basis, but for now, I have to keep focused on these other things. It’s easier and quicker to remain active on Instagram, so I am posting some there, and I think I may do a (long) series on my espresso cup collection this winter, so I have some content planned there and would love to keep engaged with you on that platform in the meantime! You can find me at “kccoffeegeek” on Insta, see you there!
